Chesham Museum

The museum aims to educate visitors about the rich history of Chesham and its past inhabitants.

The website displays the museum’s collection and resources that local schools, community groups, families and older residents can use.

Collection

I used custom taxonomies to create the collection themes and then organised the various collection items by custom taxonomy within.

Exhibitions

The Museum promotes events and exhibitions. Using custom Gutenberg blocks I created reusable sections within the exhibition and paginated the custom posts. Events are generated using the Events Calendar plugin and tickets can be purchased using Woocommerce.

Resources

The Museum engages with the local town and provides resources, such as loan boxes and other downloadable resources. Using custom posts, Advanced Custom Fields and image sliders various resources were created. A custom Gutenberg block enabled a user’s onward journey and breadcrumbs to allow users to know where they were in the site at a given time.
